After finishing my post master degree ‘Multiplicity & Visual Identity’ in Switzerland, I became more and more interested in the dynamics of communities and the process of building up new structures from scratch. My current activities are in the fields of community participation, European culture and social design.
I’m a member of Transeuropa Network, which is an activist’s and artist’s organization, creating a new european culture based on equal rights, democracy and transnational culture beyond the nation state.
The network organizes several events during the year that eventually grow towards a truly transnational festival taking place in a still growing amount of cities around Europe simultaneously. With the network’s video team, led by Severine Lenglet, we create awareness via documentaries on equal rights for LGBT, Roma situation and cultural diversity. Our movie ‘It gets better has been shown in several film festivals in Europe.
Since 2011 I’ve been active for Placemakers as an external expert;
Placemakers is a group of young architects, designers and sociologists, who set up community projects with people on site in various locations. Placemakers aims at social and physical development of areas by encouraging local, creative ideas and connecting different stakeholders; Placemakers can be seen as a chain between ‘users’ and ‘planners’. With the movie ‘Global from scratch’, Placemakers was selected for Wonderland’s project space Cluj, Romania and works since with local community on reanimation of abandoned industrial sites.
