Ninety Minutes of Frame #3: Image makers

The third Ninety Minutes of Frame will focus on people who influence how we see the world.

An image comes in many forms; photography, film, graphic design or even popular conceptions planted in our minds. At the third edition of Ninety Minutes of Frame – Frame magazine’s lecture series – we will focus on image makers who – in a variety of ways – shape how people view and perceive the world around them.

During the event on June 16th, Robbie Mahoney, creative director at London-based Graphic Thought Facility, will give an exclusive keynote address. Fashion designer Pablo Londono will make his Claim to Frame and Desiree de Jong, art director at Moooi, will discuss the making of the design company’s international presentations.

Admission is free. Please hit the red button 'reserveer' on top of this page to RSVP.

Key note: Robbie Mahoney - Creative Director
Robbie Mahoney – creative director at renowned design agency Graphic Thought Facility – will give the keynote address. Mahoney studied graphic design at Central Saint Martin’s and the Royal College of Art in London before joining Graphic Thought Facility in 2001. The London-based design consultancy has an international reputation for appropriate, effective and original solutions. Recent commissions include exhibition design for the Science Museum, books for the Gagosian Gallery, way finding for Vitra, and campaigns for Kvadrat and the Frieze Art Fair. Mahoney has lectured and conducted creative workshops both in the UK and internationally.

Making of: Desiree de Jong - Art Director
A graduate of the Design Academy in Eindhoven, de Jong originally joined Moooi as a junior designer in 2000. Now working as the art director – alongside Moooi founder Marcel Wanders – de Jong is responsible for the look and feel of Moooi’s presentations, showrooms and fairs. In her role at Moooi, she uses a combination of skills to drive the brand forward while maintaining its core values.

Claim to Frame: Pablo Londono - Designer
Pablo Londono will make his Claim to Frame with ‘This is Sweden’ – a project created by himself and his sister Ana. Londono graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam in 2001. Since then he has exhibited extensively throughout Europe. The project was born out the siblings experiences when their family left their home in Colombia to seek asylum in Sweden as political refugees.

Step by Step: Viola Renate - Image Maker
Viola Renate – one half of the eclectic duo Pinar&Viola – will talk the audience through the custom-tailored images they create. The Paris-based studio makes cutting-edge contemporary images which set the tone of today's visuals. Pinar&Viola’s highly aesthetic visual narratives are full of socially relevant conceptual content. Their clients include Nike, Dazed & Confused and the Stedelijk Museum.

Ninety Minutes of Frame is a live version of the magazine and presents a programme of lectures and debates.
